Catch up…

Filed under: bikes, GPZ550 Hardtail Project, moans, stuff, tattoos, work — goat @ 8:24 am

Sorry, haven't posted in a while…

Wifey and kids went to Spain, and came back.

Still no front end for my project :(

Built a chop this weekend (okay, its a push bike and my little lad helped me!!!) Photos to follow.

Did another tattoo

Work still shit.

Car still shit.

Loving the van!

Hating life.

Feeling bad for not posting more. I hope to rectify that over the coming days.

My first victim!

Filed under: tattoos — goat @ 9:55 am

As mentioned in my previous tattoo post, I did actually slap another one on my leg (photos to follow).

And this weekend, I found a willing victim (sorry, I mean volunteer!) to practice on.

It turned out okay, a little star sign symbol on an ankle with some funky black lines in the background. I will be colouring it in a few weeks and I'll stick some more piccies on here.

Talk about pressure though!!! I couldn't believe how stressed I got… I don't mind ballsing mine up (I can live with my own mistakes), but the thought of scarring someone else for life is a nightmare!

Still, I'm happy to practice on anything that stays still for long enough, and now I know what to expect…

work…

Well…

Bit of background, I currently work for Head Office in commercial, and with the changes afoot for the company, HO will be run down to nothing in the next year or so.

3 months ago, I was offered a job (same company), but working at site commercial level as opposed to Head Office/Corporate level. My name was put forward by the Commercial Director. I expressed an interest with the guys concerned, but explained that I was looking for promotion, not level transfer. CD put pressure on these chaps to advertise the post at a higher grade, and called me in for a meeting. At this point he explained that although he was not directly responsible for this job, he carried some clout (obviously!!!) and that I was definitely the man he wanted for the job. It's nice to have support from the directors!

So, I apply for the job… And get sifted out.

The CD is on leave this week, but I've dropped him a line anyway. He's going to be as pissed as me, which is VERY.

I want to hurt somebody – anybody.

Tattoos

Filed under: stuff, tattoos — goat @ 6:53 pm

As some of you will know, I've been considering picking up a new hobby.

Tattooing.

Well, I started today with a small design on my lower calf, just the outline so far.

To be honest, it came out pretty well, lines are a bit wobbly but need to be thickened up anyway. All in all, fairly chuffed with my first attempt.

 first blood...

I think I'm going to attempt something slightly bigger on the other side… Trouble is, its quite hard to find spots to work on yourself!

Transport…

Filed under: moans, stuff — goat @ 10:27 pm

Well, I haven’t posted for a week or so…

Car is still off the road, still driving the transit (which isn’t actually that bad to drive around, far better than wifey’s car) and generally feeling pissed off with life.

I’ve got my eye on a couple of jobs, both internal moves, but perhaps with more of a long term future (I’m sure there’s a joke there, Cornell…) than my current post. I’ll keep you updated.

Still nothing from the guy doing my yokes for the chop. Lesson learnt… Don’t get wifey’s best mates boyfriend to do any future work. I’m sure they’ll be fine when they turn up, but for the cash it would have cost me to have them done elsewhere, it would have been worth it to have them in my hands now.

Next project bike (the one that got reversed over) is still being haggled over by the various insurance companies, so not sure when I’ll hear back about that.

Wifey and kids are off to Spain in a week, so at least I’ll get a bit of peace and quiet at home.

Roof is still leaking… Toilet isn’t!!!!!!

Friends

Filed under: moans, stuff — goat @ 3:23 pm

A fantastic person I know is having a really hard time at the moment. The people who should be doing all they can to help are causing even more trouble and heartache (knowing full-well what they are doing).

It really pisses me off that there are complete idiots in the world without a thought for other people’s feelings.

I’m having trouble expressing myself here, but I’m sure you get the gist.

Chin up mate, do what you think is right, and the people who matter will be there for you unconditionally.

A friend will help you move, but a true friend will help you move a body…

How was your week?

Filed under: moans, stuff — goat @ 10:22 am

Well, I’ve not had time to post for a while now, so there’s some catching up to do…

It was my birthday on Saturday, had a nice, quiet, relaxing one. Another year older and all that. I hate getting old.

For some time now, my downstairs toilet has been leaking… Having “fixed” it half a dozen time already, it seems to get worse and worse every time I touch it. Crap. I might just brick the door up.

Not sure if I mentioned it before or not, but I also have a leaky roof (but nothing is ever simple with me…). The roof leaks, but the water manages to run internally down the walls and out through the kitchen ceiling. No leaks upstairs at all… Until this week. Now I have a leaky bathroom ceiling as well. I’ve been on the roof, and there are no obvious holes to patch up, so it looks like I’m going to have to bite the bullet and pay somebody to re-roof it for me. Bugger.

I bought a new car… A tidy 1988 Sierra XR4x4 (so the 2.8 version). There was a couple of things I wanted to sort on it, nothing major. The central locking doesn’t work properly, the fanbelt needs tightening, and the engine gets kinda warm. The guy I bought it off thought that it was the temperature sensor, but I reckon it’s probably the thermostat. So, I got a new thermostat, went to change it this morning (20 minute job, right?) and managed to shear one of the bolts off… Not a happy bunny at the moment. So, I’ve nicked wifey’s car for today, and will probably have the father-in-law’s van for the rest of the week. Pants.

How was your week???

Van pt2

Filed under: bikes, stuff — goat @ 11:17 am

Well, I lost the van on ebay… The reserve was £350, I bid £453 but was outdone. For £450, it would have been worth purchasing, but anything more (with all the welding etc that needed doing) it wouldn’t have been such a good buy. And if the guy who won it can’t weld, I can see it costing £500 or so to get it up to scratch.

I was lucky that I had the benefit of viewing (as it was only half a mile from where I work).

Still gutted though!

Back to the drawing board then…

Van

Filed under: bikes, stuff — goat @ 2:10 pm

Yes, I want a van… A long wheelbase semi high-top transit to be exact. NOT white. I need something to carry my bikes and components around in (for my projects), and as interest in my work is growing, I need transportation for jobs for other people also.

Unfortunately my budget doesn’t stretch to much, so whatever I find will probably need some TLC and look like shit, but I don’t really care. I went to see a yellow trannie today, looks like it could be a bargain… (I’m a sucker for a bargain!)

At some point soon, my website should be (kinda) up and running, and you will be able to see more info on projects, services on offer etc.

In the meantime, a bit of advertising on the side of a van won’t hurt.
